Sherry White Ministries First Trip 2021
Happy New Year and thank you for joining us again as we venture out on our SOWER Ministry Projects in 2021. Last year didn’t allow us to complete the projects we signed up for between COVID-19 and helping out with John’s mom who is 93. However, we are glad to be back on the road and have 6 projects schedule for this year. That means I have a lot of posting to do!
Today is our first day working at Sherry White Ministries. Ms. Sherry had a dream in 2006 to begin this ministry that helps women break free of addictions and destructive lifestyles. Since Lydia’s House Inc opened, the ministry is supporting itself through the Grace of God, two thrift stores, a volunteer who repairs donated bikes to sell in the stores, the Amazing Grace Tea House and individual donations. The ministry also purchased the Pioneer Village, where we SOWERs are able to enjoy the beautiful grounds. The guys will begin the new chapel project on the property next week. As we had to hold off since the screws for the logs have not come in yet. The Pioneer Village currently has a Family Center and two log cabins for families of the girls in the program to come visit and help with family restoration. This morning all six couples started working in the Heaven Sent Resale Shop to help rearrange the sales floor. We moved many shelves from the front right corner of the store to the back so we could bring in some of the bikes that are being donated for sale. Then the ladies stacked the shelves and started sorting through clothes. It was a busy morning and we will begin again tomorrow with more sorting and moving items to the second store the Mustard Seed Thrift Store. The men will continue to power wash the office and the Bikes on a mission repair shop before painting fronts and the fencing.
I have a few pictures, however being the first day I forgot to take a photo before we began working on the front of the store. Either way I am sure you can picture it!
