Rapid City, South Dakota Cedar Canyon Camp

It’s been a full month and I have not posted anything so get ready for a LOT of photos!!! This month has been so rewarding. The Lord placed us with two sweet couples that love Jesus and fellowship!! Everyone (as usually for SOWERs) worked extremely hard to complete all the task (plus a few more) that was presented to us when we arrived.

The men were asked to expand cabins in order to have more spacing for the camper’s beds due to COVID regulations. The walls were already torn out (previous SOWERs) so the guys completed the patching and painting. As always, when completed the rooms looked amazing!!

The ladies were asked to batch up 3,000 cookies for the summer. We baked about 400 of the cookies and then froze the rest in large bags to be placed in the freezer for easy baking. We hit our goal and above!!! We completed 3,200 cookies Chocolate Chip and M&M’s, Yummy! It was a lot of fun being in the kitchen with these two ladies…..just don’t take to Kim while she is counting out her flour….only 27 cups per batch.

When the to do list was completed the guys found other things to do with their expertise!! Ray fixed the camp water pump and Dan fixed the ice machine. Thanks guys for saving the camp a few service calls!!! The three of them worked on the washer and dryers. Now the came only has one washer out of service and Dan is going to be able to complete that next week when the part comes in, because they are camping near by. Paula and Jan are very happy, (staff that does the laundry for all the cabins). It’s going to make their work go by a lot quicker!! I missed out on getting pictures of Dan on the ice machine or the guys working in the laundry room, however, I did snag a picture of Ray in the pump pit!!

I think I am going to stop here for now so you don’t’ get to tired of reading about this one project. However, I promise to finish this month out in a few days so be on the look out for the rest of our Rapid City Adventure……..
