New Life Ranch OK

Week two…..has come to life! Staff was so excited about the last few weekends. Retreats have begun and we had over 300 people here from last Wednesday through Sunday. The week before I believe they said we had close to 200 hundred. There was much activity and we had many things to do getting ready.

The guys worked on the top side of the bridge this week. They were taking off the old side boards grinding off the paint on the rails, painting (as many of you know John’s not so favorite job) and then placing new boards back on. They were able to complete two sections. Working on the rest of the bridge this week weather depending!!

Us ladies started power washing the cabin decks. Unfortunately, Kathy fell and hurt her back on Tuesday. After a few days of rest she was eager to get back to work, praise the Lord it was not a serious injury. They did find some data entry for Kathy to do so she didn’t reinjure her back. I continued power washing until the youth group showed up Wednesday morning to occupy the cabins. After that I worked with a couple who are here volunteering on there own time. We polyurethane new cabinets in the Dogwood cabin. It has been a pleasure working with Johnny and Bonnie. They are part of an other Christian RV group called Rvics (Roving Volunteers in Christ’s Service). This has been one of the perks on this 5 month adventure, all the great folks we met!!

Quick update on the snow….it stopped however temps dropping in the mid 20’s most of the night…..more blankets PLEASE!!

Only a few days left here at New Life Ranch. Which means only a few more months of projects before we take a break in Maryland to spend time with our mom’s and siblings.
