This month John and I were the only SOWER’s on the project. We worked with Keith and Ann Hawver who are Sower on Assignment, which means they are at this project three or more months at a time.

This project has many pieces of ministry for year around opportunities to serve. You can check all the ministries out on this website www.lakewalescarecenter.com. Once there click on the programs tab and be amazed at all that is done here in Lake Wales.

The ministry the ladies serve when on this project is the Thrift Stores and the Supply Warehouse that feeds into the Thrift Stores. This month I worked with Ann in the small appliance isle, cleaning testing and packaging the items to go to the store floor for purchase. It’s crazy all the items that come into the warehouse, these items are the ones that are picked up from homes, not drop offs like most of us do at our local thrift stores. The warehouse is huge, the trucks drive into the middle and unload items into specific isles for sorting. The warehouse not only is used to restock the stores, items are also used for the following ministries Emergency Services, Transitional Housing and the Choices Pregnancy Care. These donations touch so many lives that are in need them.

John worked with Keith replacing windows in the Community Building. He also built tool cabinets for the maintenance room, however with us not working close together we did not take many pictures. I understand the pictures help give you a better idea of what we are doing, the best I have is a few from the warehouse and one from John making the cabinets for the tools. Of course I am grateful John didn’t try taking photos on the scaffolding while doing the windows.

We are here in Lake Wales for an other month with an other couple to finish out the year. We will try and do better on the photos this month.
